Our Funder Role Continuum Framework exploring the different roles funders can hold in place-based work
What is this framework?

A framework on the continuum of roles that funders can play to impact place-based systems change work as well as influence systems at regional and national levels. This was developed with 17 national and regional funders committed to place-based work, convened by Place Matters. There are no value judgements on where funders 'should' be on the continuum and many effective funders will choose to fund at all three levels: organisation, place, and regional and national systems.

How would this framework be used?

The framework is intended to be helpful to both philanthropic funders as well as recipients of funding, to be intentional about the type of support and influence they can provide in place-based and national systems change work.
