The Next Evolution of Our Interactive Map

Building on the work of Version 1 of our Interactive Map, we are seeking partners to help expand the usefulness of this tool as a valuable resource for place-based work!

The project so far

In 2024, we took a step forward in understanding and visualising place-based work across the UK. Through our Place-Based Interactive Map and Annual Insights Report, we uncovered valuable insights into where place-based initiatives are taking shape and how they are funded.

In 2025, our goal is to enhance the map, incorporating deeper insights and expanding its usability for those engaged in place-based work.

Why This Matters

Place-based approaches focus on addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges by harnessing local strengths and collaborating across communities, public services and stakeholders. By mapping these efforts, we aim to provide a vital tool that helps organisations identify gaps, share best practices, and leverage funding opportunities more effectively. With the next version of our interactive map, we aim to provide even richer data, more intuitive navigation, and new features that will make this a vital resource when considering any place-based initiative.

What We’re Looking For

To bring Version 2 to life, we are seeking proposals from experienced individuals or teams who can help us take this project to the next level. We are looking for expertise in data analysis, visualisation, and mapping technologies, and with an understanding of place-based work in the UK.

The successful proposal will outline how the next version of the map can:

  • Improve accessibility and user experience.
  • Incorporate new data sets and insights.
  • Enhance engagement for funders, policymakers, and organisations.

How to Apply

If this opportunity reflects your expertise and passion, we invite you to submit a proposal, of no more than 15 pages, to info@placematters.co.uk

Full details, including the scope of work, budget, and evaluation criteria, can be found in the tender document below.

The deadline for proposals is 27th February 2025. We look forward to hearing from you!
